We are so proud of our team here at Able Living, every single member of the team goes the extra mile to ensure our clients are cared for as if they were part of their own family. All our carers are genuine, warm hearted people who are passionate about caring for others.
We only recruit the best staff to join our care team and we do not use agency staff, so we ensure our high standards are always met. We have a thorough and comprehensive recruitment process -all staff are fully security screened via the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) and have several reference checks before they can join our team.
We ask existing clients for input into our recruitment process too. We discuss what they would like to ask potential new carers and these suggestions are then added to our interview questions, to ensure we recruit the right people to meet their needs.
All new staff members undertake a 12 week induction and training program, with mandatory training refreshed every year for all staff. Able Living has sponsored many staff who have chosen to study for professional qualifications and now hold formal Social Care qualifications to supplement their experience. We also provide specialised training too for such things as dementia and palliative care.
Our team members have years of experience between them and are a happy and motivated team. In a recent staff survey, team members said they were proud to work for Able Living.
Staff turnover is low with half of our team having worked for Able Living for 5 years or more. This is unusual for domicilary care agencies and demonstrates that our staff are happy, appreciated and rewarded for all their hard work.
Able Living staff regularly participate in charity campaigns, with carers taking part in events like the Memory Walk and annual ‘Cup Cake Days’ in support for the Alzheimer’s Society, just to name a couple. Raising awareness around issues that affect the elderly and our clients is something that we work to do in any way that we can, conducting social media campaigns across the community to educate people and improve their understanding of the challenges faced by the older generation in our local area.
We are always keen to supplement our team with high calibre carers. If you are looking to work in social care and feel you have the right qualities to work in our company, please get in touch at jobs@ablelivingcare.co.uk to discuss opportunities.
